Meet our October Resident of the Month!

We’re thrilled to announce our Resident of the Month: Elizabeth F.Elizabeth was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, and was one of seven children. Her mother stayed home to take care of the children while her father worked at United States Rubber Company, which later became Uniroyal.

Elizabeth remembers her house and suburban neighborhood as a fun place for the children to play. As a teenager, she would visit her middle sister who had moved to Philadelphia. At the age of 19, Miss Elizabeth was introduced and fell in love with her soon-to-be husband, Lawrence, and together they had three daughters.

She was a great cook, with her daughters begging her to make their favorite dishes until she had to “retire” because of mobility issues. By a happy accident, around this time she was introduced to the Giant supermarket strawberry shortcake, which along with their donuts she highly recommends. Miss Elizabeth has these words of advice — don’t be scornful of the baked goods in supermarkets; they can be just as delicious as home-baked goods!
